Urban Outfitters Summertime Prints
I see pattern…
…at Urban Outfitters.
Hey everyone! Its finally summer around here. It has been a true Texas summer in Dallas lately- 100 degree temperatures and random storms here and there. As much as I hate the extreme heat, I love to pattern shop during the summer season. I was in Urban Outfitters the other day and found these icon driven patterns that scream summertime! I LOOOOOVe anything with a flamingo and/or sunglasses on it! hehe I have been thinking of summertime icons and I just cant get enough inspiration from all the prints out there right now. Enjoy what I saw at UO! Some more summertime patterns soon!
Reminds me of Saved by the Bell! I loved that show! But, also, this print reminds me of a California summer! Katie Perry would love this print, dont you think? ;)

I have been more drawn to summer icons lately, but I couldnt ignore the usual floral driven tropical prints that will always be in stores during the summer season. And how cool, that I found one of these patterns on some nail wraps. Nail art is such a fun trend to follow and I am so glad nail wraps were invented. LOVE them! In fact, I may have to go back to Urban and pick these up! So dang cute! Pattern is really everywhere these days! Smiley face! hehe

Great stripe, dont you think! Great Beach Bag, as well!
I moseyed on over to Men’s at UO. I forget to cover men’s bc it is just not as fun sometimes as Women’s is. But UO always delivers. The Menwear patterns I saw were obviously a little different from the patterns women wear. Hawaiian Shirt inspired prints and Fourth of July Stars and Stripes are always a safe bet for men during summertime. These were some of the belts. Accessories like belts and socks (see pic below) are a great way for men to add pattern to their outfits. I see pattern everywhere, but really it just on everything these days. haha

I love socks, obviously, bc I worked with socks for 5 years. I will forever pay attention to socks. The men’s socks are so much cooler than the women’s socks at Urban Outfitters. They always have been as long as I have paid attention. Love this bearded pirate and the hungry shark! So hilarious!

Okay, this last pattern, I found on a Men’s Tee at Urban. I added it to this post bc it sooooo reminds me of the Strip in Panama City Beach, Florida. I know now, Panama isnt really a place college kids go for Spring Break anymore, but back in my day, we went a few times. And this was just too funny to me to not add. :) Altho, girls, if your beau is wearing this shirt (even if it is to the beach), you may wanna think twice before considering him boyfriend material! Just date his friend who is not wearing this shirt! haha

I hope you enjoyed this collection of summertime prints from UO. More to come from other stores thru out the SUMMER! Now go to the pool and enjoy summer! Dont forget your shades! B-)

Travel: British Virgin Islands Photo Diary
Hey yall!
Here are some of my amazing pictures from my amazing trip to Scrub Island in the British Virgin Islands! Enjoy!
I SEE PATTERN in the pic above! Do you? :)
At Loblolly Beach on Anegada Island, the northernmost island in BVI aaand the only island that is flat. Doesn’t this look like a Corona commercial??? Omg it was gorgeous!

Shot from our resort on Scrub Island! Our resort was beautiful! Check it out here!
Yep, we are brave! We took a 4 seat plane to the Corona commercial island in BVI called Anegada. We wanted to go bc it is the only island that is flat in British virgin Islands. We took a plane instead of a boat bc the boat ride from Scrub Island was going to be almost 2 hours long. So we flew Fly BVI!Our pilot was amazing! Smoothest landing ever. Southwest should take notes from that guy! haha
See, it’s flat!

The Cacti in BVI were so beautiful to me. I took soooo many cactus pics! haha I will spare you all of them. But, this cactus was especially interesting to me bc it was blue-ish! I really loved that! I have GOT to get a cactus garden going in my backyard in Dallas! :)
Swirly tree stump on the beach!

I miss my vacation so much already!!! It’s really sad that I want another vacation! I just wasn’t ready to come back to real life! I guess I will just have to look back at this post twice a week to keep my mind in vacation mode! I hope you will do the same if you need to! ;) If you are traveling to BVI anytime soon, ask me any questions in the comments below and I will try and help you have the most fabulous vacation ever! Happy summertime everyone!

BVI Instagram - Vacay Week in Review
Hey EVERYONE!
I am back from vacation and ready to share some pics! For those who don’t know, my husband and I traveled to the British Virgin Islands for a weeks vacation to celebrate our 2 year wedding Anniversary last week. We stayed on Scrub Island at the Scrub Island Resort, Spa, and Marina. It was fabulous! And if you click on the link above, the pictures on their website are exactly what everything really looked like in real life. You know most places make the website pics look way better than the actual place is in person, but not this one. I highly recommend! Plus the resort is affiliated with Marriott, so you can use points to book the place which is why we chose it! While there enjoying the resort and the sceneries BVI has to offer, I took a bazillion pictures as usual. It is always so hard for me to edit pictures out! So, I end up sharing a ton here on the blog. Oopsies! :) I hope you don’t mind! hehe I will be splitting up the pics into two posts. One today and one very long post tomorrow! While in the BVI, we had free internet access at our resort (another perk of Scrub Island), so I was able to post some instagram shots thru out the week. But just in case you missed the live coverage, here is my vacay week in review on Instagram. Non iPhone pics tomorrow! Enjoy! Happy Monday!

Off to the Beach!
Hey Y’all! It’s VACATION time!!!

My husband and I are leaving for the British Virgin Islands today!! It is our two year anniversary trip! I cannot wait! We both need this vacation. My husband has been working long hours and we haven’t been able to spend much time together lately! I have, also, been pretty busy myself, as I’m sure you have noticed, by the lack of postings. I thought not working my 8 to 5 would free up some time… OH but no! LIFE is full my friends! Upon my return from vacay, I plan to really buckle down and “get er done!” Yes I just said that. haha I have been living in Texas too long. Anyway, pardon my absence! I’ll see ya in a week.

Music Monday: Music From Baz Luhrmann’s Film The Great Gatsby
I see pattern…
…on music album covers!
Five of the tracks on this album are not offered on Spotify. :( When I put it into a playlist in my personal music on Spotify, the whole thing was available, but slowing some of the songs are disappearing on me! Then I went to go buy those songs on iTunes and iTunes has it to where you have to buy the whole album to get each song. Needless to say, I am so sad that I can’t get the full album. I will probably eventually just buy the entire thing on iTunes, but for now I am enjoying most of the cd on Spotify! :) And I am definitely enjoying the geometric line pattern on the cover! I hope y’all do to! Happy Monday!

Buffalo Exchange Spring 2013 Trends Part 2
I see pattern…
…at Buff Exchange on Greenville in Dallas!
Continuing my Spring 2013 Pattern Trend finds from Buffalo Exchange!
These are what I call “Fade Out” Patterns because they all sort of fade out in some way. I’m loving the movement that is created with this group of patterns!

Dotties

And this last one is just for fun and not really part of a reoccurring trend. Altho, tropical themed patterns are always relevant for Spring/Summer Seasons. I just thought this one was quirky and entertaining and wanted to add it to the blog!

Buffalo Exchange Spring 2013 Trends Part 1
I see pattern…
…at Buffalo Exchange where I sell my clothes so I can buy more! HAHA
I always love to see what’s trending according to the folks at Buffalo Exchange. I asked one of the sales associates how they keep up to date with trends so they know what to buy. She said they shop EVERYWHERE from UO to Ann Taylor Loft! They are constantly in the stores scoping out trends. Here are a few of the ones I saw in Buffalo that they bought according to what they saw in the stores for this Spring! Enjoy!

Trip To Ikea
I see pattern…
…at the iconic IKEA!

Now that I am working from home, I needed a proper work space! First things first, I needed a desk! I no longer wanted to work from my dining room table and/or on my couch! Where else would I go for a desk but IKEA!!! Still working on getting my office in order, but as soon as I get it looking good and cute, I will post pics! Until then, I wanted to share some of the great patterns I saw while shopping at IKEA. There is so much pattern on all types of surfaces at IKEA! Enjoy! :)

The above image is what greeted me at the door! Immediately, I knew I was in for a pattern filled shopping experience!

EYE see pattern! This one may just be my favorite of the bunch! I love the colors and anything with an eye on it is kinda cool in my book! ;)

I had to include these bc I am just loving flamingo and pineapple art! These glasses belong in my cabinets! SUMMERTIME!!! Who’s ready?

Too bad I could only afford a desk for now bc this lil “Saved By The Bell” inspired piece should be in my office, as well!
Love this print for a boy’s room. The owl is now moving on to the male population! haha
I ended the day seeing these beautiful geometric patterned rugs! I love a nice two color geo patterned rug! There’s a place for these in everyone home!
Stay tuned for my post of my office. I am loving having a work space at home! Yay for working for yourself! :)

My Weekend In Instagram
I see pattern…
…in New Orleans!
Hey everyone! I traveled to New Orleans for a Bachelorette party for a dear friend of mine this past weekend. We had a blast staying in the Quarter and doing NOLA touristy things like Cafe Du Monde. I’ll be back in Nola next weekend to visit family. New Orleans is the best city in the world! Here are some Instapatterns I took while hanging out in the French Quarter of New Orleans!
While waiting to eat Brunch at the Ruby Slipper on Magazine, a beautifully polka dotted red and black lady bug landed on my purse! I believe that means Good Luck… I love this pic not only because of the ladybug, but notice the interesting pattern the sun made from the texture on my bag! There are three patterns in this shot! Heck yea!
The pic to the right is, of course, from Cafe Du Monde. I love the look of that place- white and SUGARY! ;) Even the pattern on the tabletops have a powdered sugary feel. Don’t you think? And the beignets are sooooooo good! Try not to inhale the powdered sugar, tho. You will choke! haha…
Check out So Good Jewelry on Canal if you visit New Orleans. There are walls and walls of hanging inexpensive but cute necklaces, bracelets, and earings. Great place to pick up some last minute jewelry to complete your outfit for Bourbon Street. And you wont be upset if you loose it on Bourbon bc you most likely will! haha Some stuff is cute and some is just gaudy and fun to look at like the above picture of what I call, Mardi Gras Bling! Plus, So Good Jewelry has a zebra patterned tile floor! The store is quite a sight!
Ruby Slipper Red Velvet Pancakes with a pattened cream cheese/butter topping! Yes, I said cream cheese/butter topping! Too die for!
And on the left is a snap shot of the wrought iron gate at Pat O’s! Get a hurricane while there, but you prolly already know that! ;)
Not an instapattern, but I wanted to include a pic of the girls at Pat O’Briens. We had a blast! What happens in New Orleans stays in New Orleans!

Pinteresting Easter Egg Patterns
I see pattern…
…on Pinterest!
Well, there went Easter! I cant believe Easter Sunday was yesterday! I didn’t even get my Easter stuff down from the attic! Shameful!! I, also, did not find the time to have an Easter Egg dying party like last year! Check that out here! I really hate it when life gets in the way of the fun stuff! I did, though, manage to get me and my husband to church on Easter Sunday morning! So that was a positive! No dying for me this year, but thanks to Pinterest I can see all the eggcellent Easter egg dying that went on without me. I, also, looked back in my own Easter board on Pinterest to remember some of the patterned egg art I pinned last year! Enjoy!

1. Vintage Silk Tie Dying! I have to try this next year!
2. DIY Candlesticks! Great for the mantel. Make them now and store them for next year!
3. Cracked patterned Eggs! So cool and very edible!
4. Sticker patterned eggs! Grab your hole punch!
5. Jello egg molds! I love the rainbow stripe pattern!
6. Lace Dyed eggs! Sexy!
7. Typographic Eggs! Gotta love anything with Typography on it!
XOXO,
