Music Monday: Music From Baz Luhrmann’s Film The Great Gatsby

I see pattern…

…on music album covers!

Five of the tracks on this album are not offered on Spotify. :(  When I put it into a playlist in my personal music on Spotify, the whole thing was available, but slowing some of the songs are disappearing on me! Then I went to go buy those songs on iTunes and iTunes has it to where you have to buy the whole album to get each song. Needless to say, I am so sad that I can’t get the full album. I will probably eventually just buy the entire thing on iTunes, but for now I am enjoying most of the cd on Spotify! :) And I am definitely enjoying the geometric line pattern on the cover! I hope y’all do to!  Happy Monday!

Buffalo Exchange Spring 2013 Trends Part 2

I see pattern…

…at Buff Exchange on Greenville in Dallas!

Continuing my Spring 2013 Pattern Trend finds from Buffalo Exchange!

These are what I call “Fade Out” Patterns because they all sort of fade out in some way. I’m loving the movement that is created with this group of patterns!

Dotties

And this last one is just for fun and not really part of a reoccurring trend. Altho, tropical themed patterns are always relevant for Spring/Summer Seasons. I just thought this one was quirky and entertaining and wanted to add it to the blog!

Buffalo Exchange Spring 2013 Trends Part 1

I see pattern…

…at Buffalo Exchange where I sell my clothes so I can buy more! HAHA

I always love to see what’s trending according to the folks at Buffalo Exchange. I asked one of the sales associates how they keep up to date with trends so they know what to buy. She said they shop EVERYWHERE from UO to Ann Taylor Loft! They are constantly in the stores scoping out trends. Here are a few of the ones I saw in Buffalo that they bought according to what they saw in the stores for this Spring! Enjoy!

Trip To Ikea

I see pattern…

…at the iconic IKEA!

Now that I am working from home, I needed a proper work space!  First things first, I needed a desk!  I no longer wanted to work from my dining room table and/or on my couch! Where else would I go for a desk but IKEA!!! Still working on getting my office in order, but as soon as I get it looking good and cute, I will post pics! Until then, I wanted to share some of the great patterns I saw while shopping at IKEA. There is so much pattern on all types of surfaces at IKEA! Enjoy! :)

The above image is what greeted me at the door! Immediately, I knew I was in for a pattern filled shopping experience!

EYE see pattern! This one may just be my favorite of the bunch! I love the colors and anything with an eye on it is kinda cool in my book! ;)

I had to include these bc I am just loving flamingo and pineapple art! These glasses belong in my cabinets! SUMMERTIME!!! Who’s ready?

Too bad I could only afford a desk for now bc this lil “Saved By The Bell” inspired piece should be in my office, as well!

Love this print for a boy’s room. The owl is now moving on to the male population! haha

I ended the day seeing these beautiful geometric patterned rugs! I love a nice two color geo patterned rug! There’s a place for these in everyone home!

Stay tuned for my post of my office. I am loving having a work space at home! Yay for working for yourself! :)

My Weekend In Instagram

I see pattern…

…in New Orleans!

Hey everyone! I traveled to New Orleans for a Bachelorette party for a dear friend of mine this past weekend. We had a blast staying in the Quarter and doing NOLA touristy things like Cafe Du Monde. I’ll be back in Nola next weekend to visit family. New Orleans is the best city in the world! Here are some Instapatterns I took while hanging out in the French Quarter of New Orleans!

While waiting to eat Brunch at the Ruby Slipper on Magazine, a beautifully polka dotted red and black lady bug landed on my purse! I believe that means Good Luck… I love this pic not only because of the ladybug, but notice the interesting pattern the sun made from the texture on my bag! There are three patterns in this shot! Heck yea!

The pic to the right is, of course, from Cafe Du Monde. I love the look of that place- white and SUGARY! ;) Even the pattern on the tabletops have a powdered sugary feel. Don’t you think? And the beignets are sooooooo good! Try not to inhale the powdered sugar, tho. You will choke! haha…

Check out So Good Jewelry on Canal if you visit New Orleans. There are walls and walls of hanging inexpensive but cute necklaces, bracelets, and earings. Great place to pick up some last minute jewelry to complete your outfit for Bourbon Street. And you wont be upset if you loose it on Bourbon bc you most likely will! haha Some stuff is cute and some is just gaudy and fun to look at like the above picture of what I call, Mardi Gras Bling! Plus, So Good Jewelry has a zebra patterned tile floor! The store is quite a sight!

Ruby Slipper Red Velvet Pancakes with a pattened cream cheese/butter topping! Yes, I said cream cheese/butter topping! Too die for!

And on the left is a snap shot of the wrought iron gate at Pat O’s! Get a hurricane while there, but you prolly already know that! ;)

Not an instapattern, but I wanted to include a pic of the girls at Pat O’Briens. We had a blast! What happens in New Orleans stays in New Orleans!

Pinteresting Easter Egg Patterns

I see pattern…

…on Pinterest!

Well, there went Easter! I cant believe Easter Sunday was yesterday! I didn’t even get my Easter stuff down from the attic!  Shameful!! I, also, did not find the time to have an Easter Egg dying party like last year! Check that out here! I really hate it when life gets in the way of the fun stuff! I did, though, manage to get me and my husband to church on Easter Sunday morning! So that was a positive! No dying for me this year, but thanks to Pinterest I can see all the eggcellent Easter egg dying that went on without me. I, also, looked back in my own Easter board on Pinterest to remember some of the patterned egg art I pinned last year! Enjoy!

1. Vintage Silk Tie Dying! I have to try this next year!

2. DIY Candlesticks! Great for the mantel. Make them now and store them for next year!

3. Cracked patterned Eggs! So cool and very edible!

4. Sticker patterned eggs! Grab your hole punch!

5. Jello egg molds! I love the rainbow stripe pattern!

6. Lace Dyed eggs! Sexy!

7. Typographic Eggs! Gotta love anything with Typography on it!

The Wicked Way Boston is Wired

I see pattern…

…in wrought iron architectural detailing on the streets of Boston!

This is another #laterpost from my Boston trip. My husband and I walked from Newbury Street to Beacon Street to tour the original Cheers Bar/Restaurant. Unfortunately, no one “knew my name,” but we sill had a fun time seeing the place! ;) On our way there, we walked down Arlington Street by Boston Common Park where there was the most amazing wrought iron detailing on the entrances to residencies. I just had to take pictures, of course. I saw swirls and geometrics in these beautiful works of art! No two homes had the same pattern. Enjoy the stroll down Arlington Street in Boston!

This last one was a tad bit “wicked” and I dont mean “wicked” in the way Bostoners use the word. The swirly points are actually wicked and a bit scary… LOL

And just because this was too funny…

Not sure if a Bostonian is buried under this very big snow pile or if someone just left their glove behind. Let’s hope it’s the second option! :)

Marimekko Boston Shop

I see pattern…

…in the Marimekko Boston shop on Newbury Street!

Hey everyone! So as you know, I have been really busy! I have been meaning to post this along with some other posts I have planned for a month or so now. I am stealing from instagram and calling this a hashtag laterpost! :)

Over Valentines Day weekend, my husband and I took a quick trip to the “Wicked” city of Boston. While there, we walked the beautiful street of Newbury where there is oooohhh soooooo much shopping to be done! My favorite store was Marimekko, of course! If you cannot tell by the design of this blog alone, I am highly influenced and inspired by Marimekko! The store sparkled with pattern! Enjoy some of my snap shots of the store and the colorful classic Marimekko patterns!

[I left my “cool hat” I got in Park Cities at home. SO, I was borrowing my hubs to fight that chilly Boston weather! Then, I kinda lost the hat later that night. Oops, not doing too good with the beanies! lol]

Strah-burries on Newbury!

Super soft SOCKS! They had some stripes and other combos of the famous Unikko pattern. I wanted them all! haha

Marry me Marimekko!

Announcement

Hey yall!

So, I am going through a life transition at the moment and I can’t wait to tell you about it. As you all know, I have been a lil busy juggling my fulltime job, gap, and my freelance design gigs. And, of course, I have, also, been struggling to find time to dedicate to I See Pattern. I am happy to announce that you will be seeing a lot more of me here on I See Pattern!!!

I am currently no longer working fulltime designing patterns for socks.  As saaaaaad as I am to not be working with socks from 8 to 5 anymore…

…I am really excited for the things to come!  Now I will have more time to really focus on some pending design projects and, of course, more time to devote to this blog! So get ready, it’s going to be a party over here at I See Pattern and I am formally inviting you to attend. :)

Stay tuned and I will see you soon! :)
