Buffalo Exchange Spring 2013 Trends Part 2

I see pattern…

…at Buff Exchange on Greenville in Dallas!

Continuing my Spring 2013 Pattern Trend finds from Buffalo Exchange!

These are what I call “Fade Out” Patterns because they all sort of fade out in some way. I’m loving the movement that is created with this group of patterns!

Dotties

And this last one is just for fun and not really part of a reoccurring trend. Altho, tropical themed patterns are always relevant for Spring/Summer Seasons. I just thought this one was quirky and entertaining and wanted to add it to the blog!

Buffalo Trends

I see pattern…

at Buffalo Exchange!

HI there,

So, I finally found the time to go to Buffalo Exchange and sell some of my clothes [only so I can buy more clothes, of course]. Haha, but aside the selling ($$$$$) and possible buying [hehe], I always love looking at patterns there. Buffalo Exchange only buys things that are trending and they go in the store immediately. Its a good source to scope out every once in a while to keep up to date with prints. PLUS they have the most interesting patterns and I always get inspired by their funky fashions!

First up…

Button me up and Pattern me down!

I see pattern…

…at GAP!

Gap has THE cutest patterned button up shirts, right now! I just had to cover them on I See Pattern! As you may know, I have been working part time for GAP for three+ years now. In the three years that I have been with GAP, these may just be the cutest patterns we have ever had on anything! The colors are so vibrant and the prints are made of some of my favorite icons - cherries (that, by the way, are white, making them cooler than regular ole red cherries), back to school apples, birds, which have been flying around on every surface these days, and bright grass green viney leaves. I kinda bought them all… Is that bad? If my husband is reading this, he is saying YES! “Im sorry, honey, I have a problem, I know.” :) GAP is having a Labor Day sale that started today! So if you like these button ups, go shopping! Enjoy!

3 More Lovely Printsourcers

I see pattern…

…at PrintsourceNY Part 2!

Hi Hi Hi,

I have been a teeny tiny bit busy this week. My goal was to be finished posting my Printsource Pics by now, buuuut that didnt go according to plan. Oh well! Here are 3 more pattern filled booths I was able to take pictures of at Printsource. Enjoy! :)

Mark Cesarik Art/Design

How cute is that dog print??

This is Mark. He has a penguin in his logo!

As I chatted with Mark for a little while as I photographed his booth, we got to talking about the design and textile world and other random life things.

Like, when mentioning I liked his logo, he told me he thought about getting a tattoo of it on his back. Which I think would be awesome, but his friends talked him out of it due to the fact that they couldnt decide if getting a permanent tattoo of one’s business logo was too cheesy. But I think, why not?! At least at the beach he’d always be advertising his business! :) What do yall think? hehe

While talking, I also learned that, Mark does a lot of fabric printing. Him and his wife started a shop on Spoonflower called Sewbettie. Also, he is a Designer for Free Spirit Fabrics, as well.  Check out his blog for all the details on his fabrics. And, to check out more of his work, you can go to his website at markces.com.

Anywho, Mark was a cool pattern friend to meet. I really enjoyed looking thru his prints and talking with him!

Next up, Avi Iny Designs from Isreal.

Funny little story here… I was trying to get a quick picture session in with a booth before I had a trend seminar to attend. When I introduced myself to this Designer, his assistant said she just tweeted me! I had been tweeting about Printsource while I was there and she saw and invited me to come meet them. I didnt know at the time. I guess I was just supposed to meet them. haha

Avi Iny Designs mainly deals with women’s and men’s wear, lingerie, sleepwear, and swimwear as you can see from my pictures of their booth walls. They didnt want me taking close ups of their patterns but I got to shoot the patterned figures that decorated their booth. So that works for meeee! :)

Lastly, I met Antoinette et Freddy, a Textile Deisgn studio from Paris, France. Again, I was limited in what I could take pictures of. They said no closeups and I said no problem. :) Antoinette et Freddy has been exhibiting at Printsource for years. They had some great stuff!

I hope you enjoyed these Printsourcers! One more post on my Printsource experience coming up soon! Stay tuned!

It’s called the Paisley Shop

I see paisley patterns…

…at TOPSHOP in New York!

HELLLOOOOO,

For those of you who do not know, I took a trip to NYC last week to walk Printsource! The show was amazing and so was New York! I will be posting on the show later, but first I wanted to share all the Paisley I saw in while browsing my fave store, TOPSHOP. I’m thinking these funky yet sophisticated prints are going to be very popular this Fall 2012! Especially on jeans! We’ll see! Take a look at some of my favorites!

I spent an hour in TOPSHOP and only could buy one thing. I bought one bottle of nail polish bc I just adore the polka dotted graphics on TOPSHOP’s makeup line. I’m a sucker for black and white graphics!

Stay tuned for Printsource coverage! YAY!

XOXO,

That’s Fruity

I see fruity patterns…

…in Target!

The fruity trend is in full affect! YAY, SUMMERTIME! Fruit for all. The fun icon is on so many different fashion pieces this season. Not only am I seeing fruit popping up in stores, I have personally been running into all things fruit with everything I have been doing lately. One of the latest projects I have been working on at my nine to fiver incorporated some fruit icons on some Girls Low Cut Socks. I wish I could share but they are for an important client of ours. Top Secret Sock stuff, ya know! haha Anyway, I do have to pat myself on the back, tho. They are so cute you’ll want to eat ‘em! :) Speaking of eating, I am trying to loose a couple pounds. So I have been, unfortunately, calorie counting! Oh so hard! There isnt a lot of calories in FRUIT! So guess what I have been snacking on latley? You guessed it - Fruit. I have also been working on a fruitastic lil pattern. I have even been pinning things with fruit in them! You know the one where you freeze strawberries and lemons in ice to serve in drinks at a party! How cute is that!!?!?!?! Anyway, here are some quick pics I took of a collection of fruit patterns that I saw at Target the other day. Enjoy and eat some fruit! Mmmm…

PS- Fruit is a strange word and I think I said it a bazillion times in this post! Im such a fruit! haha

I see pattern…

…while cleaning out my files on my laptop.

This pattern was designed by yours truly.  I obviously remember the pattern, and in fact it is still in my portfolio, but what I dont remember doing is the design with the pattern on the vector models below.  For some reason I only have the jpgs to…  Anyway, I thought this was interesting and wanted to share!  Have a good rest of your weekend!

XOXO,

Whitney

I see pattern… On straw hats. This is a $3 straw hat I got in Mexico two years ago. I pass it everyday leaving my house bc it is hanging on a coat rack in the hallway by the door I leave thru. I love the colors and the pattern the weaving makes.
