Part 2 of Sonoma Trip
I see pattern…
…in WIne Country!

There will be one more post of some patterns I saw in the town of Sonoma soon! Until then, enjoy a glass of good wine tonight! Only if you are 21, of course! :)

Happy Anniversary To Husband
I see pattern…
in nature!
My husband and I celebrated our ONE YEAR in Sonoma/Napa area on May 21st. We had a wonderful trip eating, tasting wines, and exploring the beautiful scenery. As usual, I spent most of the time behind my camera. I really got some great shots of pattern in nature. I have be sooooo inspired by flowers and leaves lately. Every Textile Designer should look at nature for inspiration. Florals are always trending! :) SO hopefully this post will inspire all! Enjoy!
P.S. - There will probably be more posts like this one from my trip to CA. I just took so many great pictures (patting myself on the back, I know). But honestly, the flowers in Wine Country in May were just so inspiring! I just have to share them ALL. I am the worst at editing! LOL

Happy 1 Year to Husband!
XOXO,
Whitney
Hello Out There!
HI Everyone,
How have you all been? I am so sorry for the lack of posting here! I have been juggling a million things lately! :) As I mentioned a couple posts back, I signed up for an online Textile Design course called “The Sellable Sketch” taught by Michelle over at PATTERN OBSERVER! The class was amazing and I highly recommend you take it! I am really happy with the collection I got out of the class. I would share it, but I kinda want to sell it, if you know what i mean! haha But I will share my sketches that I did for the collection. Guess what my trend was? Graphic Florals! :) Enjoy!

Something else that has kept me away from I See Pattern is hosting a friend’s baby shower at my house. My friend’s sister, another good friend of ours, and myself spent a ton of time planning, cutting, glueing, decorating and baking! We even made a photo booth!!! A classmate of mine from Graphic Design at LSU helped us out with the super cute designs for the invites and all the decor. If you like the theme you can buy the printables on her etsy shop here. The whale theme was a hit. We had a WHALEY good time planning the party. Here are some photos from the day!
The first picture is from my friend’s Etsy Shop called Urban Formality.

P.S. Cookies were done by Christie McCabe in Dallas. Her blog is called Daily Dose of Sweet. She does a fabulous job. I personally like her work bc she always puts some sort of pattern on her cookies. YAY pattern! :) Love the nautical rugby stripes! Those tasted the best! HAHA

DVF 101
I see pattern…
…on DVF.
I have been doing tons of designer soul searching lately. I signed up for a pattern course online called the Sellable Sketch taught by the lovely Michelle over at PATTERN OBSERVER. We are three weeks into the class. I am already learning so much. Thanks to Michelle, I am understanding more and more about myself as a Pattern Designer and collecting some tips and tricks about the Textile biz along the way. Through this journey, I have really been diggin graphic floral prints. And who does this print style better than Diane Von Furstenberg? I just love everything about her entire company. DVF represents strong women who are successful and confident yet dainty and feminine. Here are some of the delightful DVF floral patterns I saw in Nordstroms at Northpark Mall in Dallas! Who knows, maybe one day I will get the opportunity to sell a pattern to Diane and her team. hehe! :) :) :) :)

in the apparel… Destination - UO
Urban Outfitters post number 2… I am planning my fiance and I’s Destination Wedding right now and it just so happened that there were a good group of prints that I captured last weekend at UO that remind me of the beach! So “Destination” seemed fitting for the title of this post! YAY :)
